Matt & I spent another productive couple of hours on our shiny new iPhone project on Tuesday, but Wednesday was a bit of a wipe-out as we had to do some proper work instead; read more after the jump.
- completed the initial interaction architecture design
- completed the first iRise online training module
- contacted our preferred development team
- contacted our preferred designer
- agreed to use Wordpress to power the support website, and found a plugin that extends Wordpress functionality to manage support requests & trouble tickets
- secured an appropriate Wordpress theme for the support website
- created a draft project plan in Basecamp, and set our Milestones
- changed our minds on our development company name, and secured a further 3 domain names
We also spent a boozy evening socialising with Richard Allum (Adviser Assist) & Ben Crockford (AXA Winterthur), and got quite a favourable reaction to our proposed app, in between rounds!
Basecamp & Harvest are already proving invaluable, and I particularly like the way Basecamp keeps track of our project-related email and automatically posts updates to it’s dashboard; very cool!
Tomorrow’s going to be fun; I’m going to attempt to build the first visualisation of our app using iRise. It’ll be a lot easier now that I’ve got hold of an iPhone simulation template. OneSpring’s iPhone SimDK for iRise toolkit includes an iPhone iDoc template with guides; Menu with buttons; Custom button template; Slider and button action behaviors; and multi-touch actions, and is going to save me the time & effort of trying to create all that stuff from scratch!
…and the new name for our development company? Moodoh. Because this just might turn out to be our very own cash cow…
