Supporting our local community

While it’s been long known that children can benefit physically from participating in team sports, few realise the psychological benefits associated with enrolling their child in team sports that they enjoy.
A recent study found that children that were regularly involved in team sports were less likely to engage in sexual activity until later in life than those who were. Also, children participating in team sports were found, in later life, to be less likely to use drugs than their non-playing counterparts, and were less likely to be involved in abusive relationships. In addition, Children involved in sports at an early age had a higher chance of graduating from college and university.
Fincision is hugely supportive of initiatives to provide young people with opportunities to participate in team sport in their local community. However, the costs involved can sometimes be prohibitive for parents, particularly in challenging economic times. Fincision works to remove financial barriers to participation, and is pleased to be 2009/10 kit sponsor for Rhiwbina Squirrels Under 7 Rugby Squad.
Supporting the wider community
The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) relies on the general public for 87 per cent of its donations; it faces great challenges in the current economic climate.
NSPCC currently has 180 community-based projects and runs the NSPCC Helpline and ChildLine in the UK and the Channel Islands. Most of their work is with children, young people and their families. They also work to achieve cultural, social and political change – influencing legislation, policy, practice public attitudes and behaviours, and delivering services for the benefit of young people.
NSPCC wants to see a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. Fincision is proud to be a supporter of NSPCC.
